Many times I have corrected a typo or added an incidental afterthought where the admission would add nothing but only detract from the sense of the post by eliciting a reaction of the participant, "I wonder where it was he changed his mind"

...as it's a feature unique. While one might counter that the sneaky contributor could use it to squirm out of a tight spot I nonetheless endorse it for the reason given
