Mazel Tov - on your Bar/Bat Mitzvah

A religious initiation ceremony performed for those of the Jewish faith, for a boy (bar mitzvah) or girl (bat mitzvah) who has reached the age of thirteen.
13 is the age (according to religious law)at which a child becomes an adult and responsible for her/his moral and religious duties.

As was pointed out, there are no google hits for this word, nor was there a quote illustrating it. However, as of this morning the word was added to wiktionary (I love the internet) with by the following quotation:
1856 William Robertson - The History of the Discovery and Settlement of America
The order of days in every month was computed, according to him, first by what he calls a tridecennary progression of days from one to thirteen, . . .
See <http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tridecennary>.
That's what I call a quick study...

Happy Birthday!

Triskaidekaphobia

Nice word and a long one. 13 persons for the Last Supper? When placed in Greece that would be expectable. The Greek, traditionally, always put an extra place and plate for the unexpected guest.

Triskaidekaphobia, there is one word outrunning it's lenght that I know of:
Precipitevolissimevolmente, - Italian, meaning rushing off at super high speed. Head over heels.

Which is what you should do if you fear the number 13.

It is the 13th today! Wow! Run!

But, there were 12 disciples. Add Jesus and you have 13. Maybe the did NOT have an extra place; knowing Judas would be leaving soon.

Trecento or 14 th century. Two illustrations typical for the early renaissance. The second link gives a site with nice enlargable images.(fresco's)
In celebration of the number 13 and trecento. Ambrogio Lorenzetti.

The combination with the casino is not a very lucky one.
