ElizabethC, wofa and Fr. Steve mucked out the correct answer, but **musick** prevails once again by feilding four votes.

aside to mav: I think it's time to retire that tired old ploy of the own-vote.

yexing defined:

a) Scot. laughing exuberantly. (cf. U.S. yukking) [joe bfstplk] Jackie

b) The lines on graph paper, so named because the lines define the y and x axes. [Ted] consuelo

c) A term used specifically in the feild of animation to describe the development of current technology from traditional two dimensions into virtual 3-D. Also used to describe the process used to augment two dimension animation with a (virtual) third. [musick] etaoin, Bel, Zed, Bingley

d) the practice of identifying genetically connected attributes and syndromes which manifest through the Y chromosome. [Sparteye] TEd

e) (or Ye-hsing) early 20th century Chinese painting style heavily influenced by the European Post-Impressionists. [Bingley] Faldage

f) an English West Country term for the process of separating the male and female lambs, prior to removing the testes of the males destined to become wethers (not kept as breeding rams). [maverick] maverick

g) Weaning of lambs by penning them away from the ewes. (Yorkshire dialect) [E Creith] WO'N

h) The aspect of feng shui that deals with the layout of gardens in relation to a dwelling. [Faldage]

i) [more properly "ye-xing"] an old Chinese pottery-making technique, first used during the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). It involved the application of successive layers of semi-transparent glaze, all the same hue but of diminishing intensity, to provide greater depth of color and lustre. [wofa]

j) The signing of a name. A slang word, blended from you're and x-ing, where the x refers to the signature. "By yexing this form, you're agreeing to purchase the three-year extended warranty." [Jackie] Sparteye

k) A rope securing the mizzen sail to its mast on 17th- and 18th-century warships. [Asp] musick

l) the soapy wall of a bubble. [WO’N] ASp

m) Sc. and dial. (also yesking) sobbing (obs.); hiccuping. [OED2] Fr. Steve, EC, wofa

After the fact I would call the Assembled Multitudes' attention to
http://www.holymtn.com/teapots/yixing.htm .
Definition I turns out not to be quite so daffy after all!
(All right, so it was the Sung Dynasty, not the Han...)

See what you can infer sometimes from just the structure of a word?

No points of course because of Number Four of the Roolz.

from AnnaS: I'm gonna go with L in tribute to the bizarre twist of mind that could have made such a leap.

I'm deeply honored. [blush-e]

Is it unusual to have two definitions submitted which overlap? In the last game there were two Icelandic definitions, in this one, two about sheep, and two about Chinese art? Or are we being psychotic? No, wait, it's psychic - I always get those two mixed up....

Probably roughly equivalent to the chances of two people in a certain sized group having the same birthday or the chances of two randomly chosen crossword puzzles having the same answer somewhere.
