HAGLIDE??

I was wondering, especially as our prescriptivist padre seems to have accepted this "word" without a murmur.

I'm practicing my cross-threading. If you look across the way at the "Funda" thread, you will see that wofahulicodoc wrote "I'm going arbitrarily to throw out HAGLIDE and from the rest blindly choose K, even though some body else already did." This was in the "voting" for a game of Hogwash. At first, I thought that HAGLIDE must be a word, maybe a good one with which to play Hogwash, until I figured out that those were the letters attached to the definitions he was rejecting. Instead of putting them down in alphabetical order, he made a word out of them. So I used that word to make a "thingie" in Consuelo's thread about sentences made out of words beginning with each successive letter in a word, a word like "HAGLIDE" f'rinstance.

Jah, I know. I need to get a life and apply my meagre talents to more constructive ends. I'll try harder. [mumbling to himself emoticon]

>I'm practicing my cross-threading yada-yada...

oh, we (or at least I) understood all that; but I was wondering how the word in question got into a game whose very reason of state has to do with words flowing from one post to the (very) next, I wondered.

Is that a misdemeanor, a gross misdemeanor or a felony?

>reference - either Anu or tsuwm

we deny any knowledge of such a word and believe it was made up on the spot;
a nattering nascent nonsense nonce non-word, as it were.

or, it were a typo for...
tholing? (suffering, enduring)
throbbing??
thobbing?! (don't cry, Milo)

Dear tsuwm,

You and Anu must get out of the house more often...
