AHD: "1. A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason. 2. Extreme, irrational distrust of others." < Gk para- 'beside' + noos 'mind'. Besides paranoia, there's also narapoia :- "That uneasy feeling that you are unintentionally following someone." And, finally metanoia :- Having gone beyond one's mind.

If you're going to invoke paranoia and metanoia, what about orthonoia? (asked the chemist organically )

orthonoia

Sounds good to me. Do you wish to define it, too? Off hand, I'd said 'straight minded' or 'psychologically correct'.

So, jheem, it follows that human beings, by complete definition, are all metanoids?

QED. Yup. At least the ones capable of speech or signing. Besides, "I never metanoid I didn't like."

I never metanoid I didn't like

Clearly, then, you admire single-minded computer whizzes from Brooklyn...
