PM me your definitions by July 5 (or so) for: faust

(ARMil® advisory: not to be confused with Faust)

---

a note from the hogmaster:

in an attempt to encourage participation and discourage cheating (lookup), the scoring schema has become somewhat (okay, very) convoluted. in view of where we're at today, I'm going to try scoring this round via the Dictionary Game Basic Scoring Rules: a point for each vote garnered for a bluff and a point for a correct guess--and no points awarded either way for non-player's votes (although we can't stop them from voting -ron o.). as before, multiple bluffs which approximate the actual def'n will be dealt with in an arbitrary manner by the hogmaster.

if you wanna collect points towards the newly minted Hogwash Gold Mettle, you gotta play.

Thank you, tsuwm, for these simple rules. If you gotta have rules, a couple of simple ones for an online board competition seem fair to me.

It's not if you win it's how you play the game!

Well, these rules are certainly clear. Too bad that they are cruelly discriminatory against those of us without the wit to create daffynitions. I used to enjoy voting, knowing two things for sure: 1) That I would get it wrong, and C) That in so doing, I would be helping somebody out. Now, if I vote, it's just 1), and that's no fun.

Well put, sjm. I didn't play for the longest time because there was *quibbling over point issues... once it became so arbitrary that even tsuwn stopped caring it seemed to be ripe for the picking... well, now, I just don't know *anymore.

<sigh> one wonders why one carries on at all, at all.

as musick proved again this time, it ain't that hard to come up with a definition. (the hard part is learning how to make it attractive! ;) and once you've entered one, you can go back to "helping-out" mode, max.
