Sorry Rav, the only Chloride I know anything about at all (and it's not all that much) is a town in Arizona. They do good breakfasts in the local restaurant.

rav, this is all I came up with:

http://www.the-infoshop.com/study/go10301_titrators_toc.html
http://www.nicolet.cz/INLIB4.html

maybe a bit more info about what you're trying to figure out would help. we need some more keywords. for example, nothing came back when I searched for "assay of chlorides"; I got these when I searched for "mercurometric".

mercurOmetric

"mercurometric"

Since the word in rav's post came through with a capital O I suspect it was some non-standard character and searching for mercurometric would be non-productive. Can you confirm this, rav?

You should try asking over in sci.chem over one Usenet. Note that Usenet group postings are not typically catalogued along with the rest of the web.

About 95% of the time when I have a question, I find that someone has (and usually a number of someones have) asked the question previously, with plenty of correct responses and useful pointers. Only very seldom do I have to ask a question myself. When I do, I get a useful response perhaps half the time. (Sometimes the question is so arcane, I'm not surprised I get no response.)
Almost all of my queries are programming related, so there are going to be a lot of resources for that.

A preliminary search of the group sci.* groups with the keywords mercurometric and chlorides produced no results, so unless you have other words you could search on, it's not likely your question is already answered. However, you'll probably find knowledgeable people in there who could point you in the right direction.

k

We used to have a lady chemist with handle I think chemeng1996, but she hasn't posted for
quite a while, so she might not read PM. Anybody got her e-mail address, maybe?

I suggest you try to search chemweb.com journals because my usial search engine PubMed comes back with one paper

Farmatsiia 1970 Jan-Feb;19(1):80-5

[Study of indicators, used in mercurometric titration]

[Article in Russian]

Belilovskii IaE.

I can possibly get it for you but it will take some time...

Try this http://www.madsci.org/MS_search.html . It is a network of scientists who answer all sorts of questions. I have known it for 4 years.
