Many years ago, a New Statesman competition asked for triple bills of films which might make a good program. The one that my kids and I remember fondly was: On the beach/Jaws/A farewell to arms.
I thought we might open it to plays and books as well.
Have fun!

I love paulb's example but can't think of any similar titles. So here's another mixed one (in a slightly different way); all I could dream up:
Rocky/Horror Picture/Showboat

I've just come back from a Booker Prize Evening (Margaret Atwood won) so it will have to be: Midnight's Children / Rites of Passage /The Old Devils http://www.powells.com/prizes/booker.html

Romeo and Juliet/Persuasion/Bringing up Baby

Apocalypse Now/A Close Shave/Heaven Can Wait
("A close shave" is the Oscar-winning 2nd Wallace and Gromit classic from the Nick Parks team.)

Oh I give up... I still like your first one best.
