Thanks, eta; now I at least know what the Great Vowel Shift was. I'd have loved to have listened to it, but got scared when I read that it could take over my sound card.

Jackie, they said that it might ke over your sound card, but indicated that it would only happen, if at all, FOR THAT SESSION. To get your sound card "back" they said you merely had to close your browser, (most likely Internet Explorer), and reopen. It's well worth the risk, IMO.
