Happy Birthday to all the May people we haven't heard from in a long time. Sure would be nice to see you all back here again!
You 7/15, me Jane. er,um I mean me 12/9
Me 09/06.
(or 06/09 as I would say here in the UK...)
Happy Birthday, Faldage--hope it's been enjoyable.
Anniversaire heureux, mon ami.
Augh!
Happy belated birthday, Owlbow my dear.
My deep apologies; somehow I had it in my head that the next anybody's was on the 22nd., so I haven't looked here lately.
I hope you had a great day!
Happy Birthday all the July babies!
Thanks. My 15th wasn't so wonderful, but the 18th made up for it, despite the fact that a large lovely doe ate all my unripe tomatoes and beans that morning. In the evening, I grilled myself some cod and lots of veggies, drank a couple of beers, picked a bouquet from my flower gardens and slept like a July baby while my owl sang love songs and lullabies. 'Very pleased by your wishes, and no apologies necessary, sometimes belated is best. Me : 7/15
Sounds excellent, Owly!
And now, since it already is the 21st. in Oz--
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, lusy my darling. I love you!
Ohhhh, NO--Krzysztof, I am so sorry! I've been busy this week, and have not been reading here. Happy late birthday, Sweetie--I hope you had a good one.
Thank you for your wishes. I was on leave and I read your post today.
Well Happy Birthday Krysztof. I hope it was a good one.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY , Miz Nancy! Have a great one!
Bonne fête Nancy
Bonne fête Nancy
Bonne fête, bonne fête
Bonne fête Nancy!
Hugs and kisses!
I'm 7.7.77. Easy to remember. (But then i argue how many people forget their own birthday)
Thank you all for the birthday wishes; I did indeed have a good one!
Happy Birthday, Rubrick; hope you were well-toasted.
... hope you were well-toasted."
In collegiate slang, "toasted" is a synonym for drunk. Did you hope that Rubrick got drunk for his birthday?
that, too.
Happy birthday, CK & WW! (This is as close as I can get to midnight here.)
Thanks. So far my prezzies have amounted to me shouting a round of drinks at the Baseball Bar and Grill at the Derby County Football Club at lunchtime. This occurs in about an hour ...
Did y'all two know y'all share a birth anniversary with Leonard Bernstein?
do we?
Ok by you in América.
Did y'all two know y'all share a birth anniversary with Leonard Bernstein? But more importantly did you all know that you all shared a birthday with my son Dan?
So
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the three of you -
Wordwind, Capfka, and Danny.
Leonard Bernstein ( May God rest his egotistical soul )
is not worthy of inclusion in this trinity of exceptional beauty, extreme mental acumen, and a goodness of spirit that is envied much by the more base of the lesser angels.
Tonight I will set down three empty glasses in your honor.
The world is a better place because you three are in attendance. Salute! Salute! Salute!
Hey, Milo, be a gent and fill mine and drink it. I'm missing a couple and I'll feel better if I know that at least someone else has had it ...
Happy Birthday to Dearest Dr. Bill, and to all our September "babies"!
A bit late, Dr. Bill, but hope you had a special day and that a good year awaits; we miss you!
nancyk
Hey, hey, today is Bingley's birthday.
Have a happy one Bing.
Accept my felicitations as well, Bingley! Celebrate well and often.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, lovely belle! I hope you get lots of goodies and have tons of fun! Much love to you, Sweet Thing.
Thanks for thinking of me Jackie. Kisses to you.
I had a great day. I took off work since it's my birthday and I worked on a bookcase I'm making. Hubby wanted a "heirloom" piece so it's a whole lot of work - but I love it.
Now, all I've been asked to do is to choose where Hubby is taking me to dinner.
Bel:
Is the bookcase the plan I sent you? I've done two of them and have seveal more to go. They get easier.
TEd
Ah-ha TEd, you're having a senior moment
...you sent me the plans for a pencil-post bed, not a bookcase.
It probably would have helped if I had the bookcase plans...since I've never done this before, I'll sometimes do something, realize I screwed up and have to do it all over again. Good thing I remember and don't do it again.
For example, I measure extremely closely and I make sure everything is as close to perfect as possible. Well, my movable shelves were exactly the 12x23 inches of the inside space. I realized that if they are perfectly snug, they'll scratch the finish on the unit when I move them. An eight off the side and back and the problem is fixed. Now I'll know for next time...but I did have 21 shelves to recut.
Do you have any hints on how to cut carved molding at an angle? I have molding going around the bottom and I want to make sure the corners look good. I got the straight pieces figured out very well but I'm not sure how to handle the molding. It's solid wood and was a tad expensive so I don't want to screw up. It looks a little like this (sideways).

If I could have gotten on here last night (I got "Page Cannot Be Found" all evening), I'd have said Happy Birthday, Consuelo. Since it's now the 26th., I'll say Happy Birthday , dody, and to all our October folks wherever they may be.
Might have found the page but couldn't find the computer so I'll just add my wishes to Jackie's and add that cake is actually mental health food and a little indulgence is good for the soul.

Ooh, I heard from my sweet Maverick yesterday! Happy Birthday to all our Nov. AND Dec. folks!
Happiest of birthdays, Mav - and here you are giving *us your birthday presence! Thanks!
Thanks kindly for those wishes, folks, and for pms and messages. As mentioned to a few already, I somehow doubt my present presence will be other than intermittent or fleeting due to horrendous time contraints - if I tried otherwise right now it would be a pre-sense pretence but.
In case I'm not around, let me get in early with love and best wishes for seasonal cheer to you all in whatever way you choose to mark or ignore it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, eta! FWIW, today also marks 25 years that my husband has put up with me.
Happy Birthday eta!
congratulations, John - long service medal?! <eg>
As in, "Show me your medal", eh?
thanks, Jackie, and Mav!
and I think he's a pretty lucky guy, Jackie. no matter what anyone says...
lucky guyAgreed. "Is that a long service medal or are you...?"
Thanks, ya'll!
We ate at the Outback Steak House tonight; only my second time (though not for lack of trying--when I've wanted to go there, say, on my birthday, it's always such a long wait that I get discouraged), and it was delicious. And even now, on a rainy weeknight, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table.
Happy Birthday
etaoin and Happy Anniversary
Jackie!
Both of you are fine folks. Sure, you two have your little idiosyncrasies, but most of the time you hide them so well that some people barely notice. I mean, of course the people who know you best and have to interact with you on a daily basis must suffer through your many quirks and on and off ill-temperments, but hey...that's what love-ones are for...right? But still, I wonder how they...
Wait a minute! This is your birthday, etaoin, and Jackie this is your anniversary, right? What the heck, for now let us all just forget your minor flaws and wish you both a happy day...yesterday.
themilum:
Can't you help yourself at all? Why do you have to snipe like that? It reveals nothing but an underlying meanness of spirit which we do neither appreciate nor condone at AWADtalk.
I will repeat: the library is over that way.
TEd
Mmm TEd, does your skill at puning preclude other forms of wit?
Who on God's green Earth, I ask, other than TEd, can't discern the fact that my post was in jest?
Jeez!
And by the way, Ted, please explain the humor you find in referring me to the library.
Please.
And by the way...TEd. Who exactly is this "WE" that doesn't appreciate and doesn't condone?
And how did you get to be their spokesman?
er, TEd, for however laudable reason I think that may have been an over-reaction. I certainly chuckled at Milo's ribbing, and I reckon Jackie and eta are big enough to take it in stride.
Let's breathe slowly before starting lobbing bricks at each other, eh guys?
I apologize, Maverick and everybody, a smarter man would have stopped after saying that he was just kidding.
The June list looks pretty meager; maybe I can help - my birthday's June 9th.
me....11/24 thanks
if at first you don't frickasee, fry, fry a hen
Hi zweetz! Welcome to the madhouse.
Nice pun. When I went to the ag school I didn't do well, and was voted most likely to sack seed. My girl friend, who was an unrepentant southerner, was voted most likely to secede.
Hippo bird-day two ewes, TEd and Jackie. I just HAD to re-use my favorite b'day greeting. Mine's 29 October... and I don't hafta give the year!
Thanks, amnow! Hee, hee--I love that greeting! I was on my computer very little last week: both my kids were home on spring break. (Wasn't it nice of their separate universities to coordinate that just for us?
) We had a nice time, catching up, visiting, shopping, and watching late-night movies together.
They both went back to school yesterday, but the air in the house seems to be still faintly vibrating from their in-and-out-ness, their upstairs-and-down-ness, their on-and-off-the phone-ness, etc., as though they have left echoes of themselves behind. Busy people, those two, and content to be so. I imagine that by tomorrow the air will be quiet again. This week was especially precious because we already know that our son has a job that will keep him away from home for most of the summer, and there is a chance that our daughter will do the same...sigh. I mean, I knew from the beginning, of course, that we would eventually lose them; but I wasn't expecting it to be before they got out of college.
(Oh--my b-day was nice, too. I had not one, not two, but
three b-day cakes! Got some nice gifts from the family, and allowed myself to go on a shopping spree--bought a few antique postcards, a new purse, and a movie: Same Time Next Year. Maybe I'll watch it today.)
happy birthdays to all those I've missed. I'll probably be missing more, but the good wishes are still there.
Happy birthday David, Steven and Werner - sorry to be a little late, but I hope it was a good day for you all.
Thanks, Mav!
Happy birthday Werner and Steve!
It was an unusal birthday, for me. I spent it sitting on a jury.
One gets double points in Heaven for sitting on a jury on one's birthday ... I have it on the very highest authority.
> highest authority
lol! Gotta love this man :)
Wheeeee!
Ta, love. It's now March '05, but I am taking it anyway.
It was an unusal birthday, for me. I spent it sitting on a jury. ~ inselpeter
That reminds me:
Magistrate ~ Would the accused please give his name and address.
Accused ~ Joseph Smith, sir, and I live in Bury.
Magistrate ~ It should be Berry, my man.
Accused ~ No sir, it’s Bury.
Magistrate ~ But it’s pronounced Berry, not Bury!
Accused ~ If you say so sir.
Magistrate ~ Why are you laughing?
Accused ~ It just struck me that the 11 people over there think they’re sitting on the jury.
Have a good day, whatever you're up to Bob.
Rainy day - 5/15 (beware the ides...)
happy belated birthday, Laurence!
Added in; happy belated, to all of you whose birth anniversaries I have missed. I have been very derelict, lately.

So now its your birthday (I found the thread)
Wow, you really are digging around. Look how long ago
those posts are, way back when I joined.
I went looking, specific like, as I wanted to post birthday wishes for Mr Shrdlu
If you notice over on the calendar on the right hand side
the Jan 4 date is underlined. It says etaoins birthday.
That is Buff...he changed his name to Shrdlu a few months
ago.
Yes...see that now, thanks for pointing me it that direction.
and thank you for thinking of me!!
Congrats Shrldlu. Where's the flower on your hat?
Your birthday search got me looking over there, something
I guess I'll have to do from now on, more often, that is.
I knew birthdays were there when I joined but just
sort of quit looking on that side.
I thought of you, Buffy. Just never got around to doing anything about it.
I thought of you, Buffy. Just never got around to doing anything about it.

You might have to update the inital post Jackie and put mine in for March
Not many this month, but musick's coming up on the 22nd
