In today's local newpaper is a long and excellent article about the OED, its midwest US regional office, and the fascinating woman who runs that office:
Just as unlikely as the location of this Oxford outpost is the story of Erin McKean, the 30-year-old American who is the dictionary publisher's lone staff editor here. McKean has earned a reputation in dictionary circles as an unusually exuberant lexicographer with a populist touch.
