I've been coming here for about one year, mostly because I've found interesting things to read about words, and secondarily because of all the links to wonderful places I never would have found on my own. Now there is almost nothing.

Because I've usually had nothing to say or add, you could hold the number of posts I've made in one hand, and the posts I have made were of little substance and certainly said nothing about me. But this one is about me. I'm very disappointed in what has happened here. I wish it could all be undone. I don't know what to do about it, and I'm inclined to fear that nothing can be done.

But I have to say, because I don't carry on conversations with people here and have no other way to voice this:

I do hold a couple of people responsible for all this, and believe me I've read it all. And you know what? I think you know who you are. I think you enjoy doing this sort of thing to boards such as these. I think you are some of the most dastardly people I've ever run across in my, admittedly sheltered, electronic life.

Hey Bill, as without a doubt the most prolific poster of all here, what do you think of the dastards who've done this, to you? I know you're not posting now, and I wouldn't want you to break your silence to respond to this rant, but I feel for you, man.

(There, I think I used the personal pronoun more than I ever have before. Anywhere.)

What's done is done, and the stinger's out.
