My apologies, people, for not thinking of this until I got a PM, asking (thank you!).
No, I cannot read Private Messages.
Nor can Anu, he told me a long time ago. If anyone has any other concerns, please ask me--obviously I need a thinking jog!
Speaking of red, several people have commented on my name being red. The idea of my name standing out makes me distinctly uncomfortable, but I'm hoping that soon it will become common enough that it isn't noticed. A couple of people have suggested that I create another persona, so that my admin. character can stay separate. An idea with merit, but. I don't think I'm going to do this; for one thing, I'm just me--the administrative function is a part of who I am. The other reason is...(Helen, your assessment of my computer skills was exaggerated, I'm afraid.)...I don't know how to log in as somebody else!

Oh, no--not that you should have another name, but--I can't believe I'm giving techno information!--all you have to do is log out, and then the little white fill-in-the-blanks will appear on your screen. You fill 'em in with your administrative name (were you to do so) and your password there. Easy. I did it as OrionsBelt~ several times. Problem is, with my ADD brain, I'd sometimes think I was Orion when I was Wordwind and vice versa!

Best regards,
WhoeverIAm

No, I cannot read Private Messages.

Uh..I don't think I understand, Jackie. Do you mean that you don't actually receive PM's any more, that you don't wish to share them, or what?

I'll step in in case Jackie's not around...

I think she meant that she doesn't have access to our individual private messages--only her own--and same applies to Anu--he can't read ours either. Strictly private between sender and receiver.

Thanks, DubDub--Sorry, I seem to be suffering from have-to-go-back-and-edit syndrome (see other thread). I did indeed mean that I cannot read Private Messages that are sent to anyone besides myself.

Duh! Of course. Now it's clear. Thanks, ww.

Hi!
I can see that everybody jealous of you became administrator. Don't worry.

I think that few of us would have been happy with any other choice. Let us be grateful Jackie is willing to tolerate the headaches and work that goes with being administrator. The board was about to self-destruct, and Jackie has saved it for us.

>No, I cannot read Private Messages

So that means, Jackie, that we can say ... anything .. about you in a private message and you can't read it.

Phew! .. that's a relief! I'd hate to spoil a beautiful friendship.

Now Maverick ... as I was saying earlier, those darn 'mercans ...

A-HEM...and who's to say I haven't said things about you, my friend?
