Did y'all see this in AWADmail #71?

From: Anu Garg (anu@wordsmith.org)
Subject: On the horizon...

It was on March 14, eight years ago, that A.Word.A.Day sent its first word. While we observe our octennial next week, it's time for new developments. We're considering launching an ad-free, paid subscription service, in addition to continuing the existing free service. Details to follow.

Now i understand why Jackie suggested to CK that the 14th was a good day for a party..

we will have to do something special.. and make it a real red letter day!-- I envy you and David.. you have each other to share a glass a wine with, as you toast AWAD--as well as having a special reason to toast!

No, I hadn't seen that, Anna, thank you. Your post made me realize why I hadn't been getting the words, either--although I sent my new e-mail address here, I didn't send it to A.W.A.D. I'll be interested to see the "details".

Helen, I just brought my suggestion thread back to the top.
Last year, didn't we all try to post something at the same time, in our respective time zones? Nine a.m. for each of us, or something?

And, we MUST have another party--it's been TOO long! I'll bring streamers and a couple of good old, foot-stomping bluegrass music CD's. And, oh! Wouldn't it be cool if four people each brought in a cake in the shape of a letter, so that the four spell out AWAD?
