Again the thread has gotten a bit long, so it's been suggested that we start anew.

Happy birthday to you today, Avy, and tomorrow, Max.

May the hair on your toes never fall out. can anyone guess what i'm reading??

BTW, there are eleven thousand new posts since the last time i logged in... and it hasn't been that long. don't you people slow down for the holidays or something??

oh, and Happy Thanksgiving too!

Posted By: consuelo Oh, my, Max - 11/22/01 09:39 PM
Here I was, thinking I had wished you a Happy Birthday. I guess I only did in my mind! Anyway, here's hoping you whacked that piñata, but good.

Posted By: jimthedog Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/23/01 11:01 AM
Happy belated birthday, Max. I was too busy yesterday wishing my mom a happy birthday.

Posted By: WhitmanO'Neill Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/23/01 09:10 PM
Happy belated birthday, Max, our most infamous Hogwash pointster! Hope you enjoyed the day while we were eating our turkey!

Posted By: Capital Kiwi Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/23/01 10:21 PM
Max, you have birthdays? Personally, the only date of significance in my life is my use-by date. It was some time ago ...

Posted By: Max Quordlepleen - 11/23/01 10:36 PM
Posted By: Wordwind Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/24/01 01:23 AM
I hope the birthday/anniversary exchange was enjoyable and festive, Max.

I've a big gap in my education, however(one of many).

What's this holbytlan?

Thanks for any mortar you may provide; birthday cake icing will work very nicely, especially if it's cream cheese icing.

Best wishes for another spin around the Super Star,
WW

It is the anniversary of the day my father married my stepmother, making me one of the very few people I know who has to give presents on his birthday.

Well, you could take the mathom principle to its logical conclusion and just give the present they give you straight back again, couldn't you?

Posted By: Wordwind Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/24/01 11:34 AM
Capital Ki: I searched "mathom principle" and can't find anything. The language of this birthday thread is taking esoteric turns... Thanks for any elucidation for one in the dark. Birthday candles ain't shedding adequate light.

Dearest and sweetest Avy and Max (not necessarily respectively),

As a benficiary I thank you both for the knowledge and perspective you have brought forth, and aside from my hopes that you have (had) the best day ever, please accept my belated congrats for having another year licked and scratched into the sky.

Posted By: nancyk Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 11/24/01 06:21 PM
Happy belated, Avy and Max! Hope your birthdays were as special as you are. (I really must get back to the board more often; entirely too much to catch up on!)

In Indonesia you are expected to buy cakes or other treats for all your workmates/classmates on your birthday. With about 60 people in the office it mounts up.

Maverick has asked me to convey his thanks and kind regards to you good folk here. His work has unexpectedly sent him out of town for a few days.
Consuelo, you are a riot! Should we ask him if he's lost the first thing yet?? <eg>

Mav!! Happy birthday, and yeah, I'm sure there's a masculine inflection somewhere there on 'dedwydd' but hey, it's the thought that counts.

Hope to see you back here soon. I am among the many who miss your wit and wisdom.

I didn't know if you were a Flat or thread mode reader...

but what ever the case, a happy birthday to you, and the best wishes for many happy returns..

(and is Jackie right, are you an old man now? or have you just come of of age??)

WO'N - Best wishes for a fun filled B-day.

If you stay up late enough you can *peck the 50,000th post (only 28 to go (if you count like a musician)).

I thought that thingy behind your name said (old hand) not (old man). Sumpin' to be said for 'sperience. Have a very Happy Birthday, Old Hand.
PS I sent the kiss Special Delivery. Did you get it?

Posted By: WhitmanO'Neill Re: A Birthday Thanks! - 12/28/01 09:05 PM
Just to thank everyone for their very thoughtful and kind birthday greetings! And, thanks, Connie! I was going to point out the hand instead of man, and, perhaps, recommend to Jackie and Helen a trip to the optometrist! But, unfortunately, the old in the appellation seems to be there either way. [sigh-e] Thanks again, y'all!

This is why they call me the late nancyk. Happy belated, WO'N!
And, as long as I'm here: Happy one-day-early greetings to Xara!
May you both have many, many more wonderful years ahead.

to everyone who suffered through another birthday this year, always remember: it's not another year older; it's another year of life wasted in a banal dance with the mundane, edging precariously close to the precipice of decay and death.

tsuwm, in all his curr-mudgeonly ways, barks:

How 'bout another year of life relished in a whirling-dervish spin with the mystical, stepping provocatively into the fountainhead of renewal and life?

I'm out of town until the 11th (for some badly needed R&R), but i didn't want to miss the chance to wish Happy Birthdays to three of my favorite AWADers:

Hyla
Shanks
and
WOW

Hope each of your days are(is???) every bit as special as you are!!!

and a belated happy birthday to SWHBIF i'd like to wish, too.

Happy Birthday also to you, sweet Hyla-chic. Give those precious babies a kiss for me, and thanks for the pic!

Happy belated Shoshannah and Hyla - You share a birthday with my son-in-law. He partied a little too hardy. Hopefully you didn't. Its too hard to take care of demanding babies with one arm wrapped around the porcelain. (Hope it was fun for you both, none the less.)

Happy Birthday to the great WOW. Let's see, that makes you 47, right? Air kiss one cheek, air kiss the other cheek, and a big hug. That's the way they do it down Mexico way. Feliz Cumpleaños.

Shanks, I really was going to wish you a happy birthday yesterday, but.....air kiss air kiss hug to you ,too. One day late.

Happy birthday, wow. I recall of a poet's remark to a woman quailing before a birthday: "How old is Spring, Miranda?"

Posted By: WhitmanO'Neill Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 02/10/02 05:16 PM
A bright Happy Birthday, wow! Hope you're celebrating Mardi Gras style! Actually you can just continue the Patriot's party right into Fat Tueday...three parties all rolled into one! Enjoy, O High Priestess!
A tumult of cheer and laughter!...evidently!

Posted By: wow Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 02/10/02 05:24 PM
Thank you all for your good wishes. Deeply appreciated.
Love that "How old is Spring, Miranda?"!I intend to use it often.
I do not despair of another birthday. Like the man said - it beats the alternative. Rather I revel in every year and the excuse age gives me to say exactly what's on my mind, to never have to do anything I don't want to do, and especially to not be afraid of being too sentimental or mushy when I tell friends how much they are loved. Like you all. Hugs all around.
AHIP! Age Hath Its Privilege Hurrah!

Happy slightly belated birthday, Em. Hope it was excellent!

Posted By: Sparteye Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 02/14/02 04:05 PM
Well, I'm always misreading stuff while trying to scan too quickly, but this one I have to share. I read musick's wish as "I hope your day was filled with the pleasures of a thousand camels and the joy of good friends to share them with!" Which perhaps explains the origins of the slang meaning of "hump"....

Posted By: Keiva Re: BIRTHDAYS Vol. IV - 02/14/02 04:26 PM
Is that a one-hump camel or a two-hump camel?
