'Mouth watering' was used descriptively in an article
I was reading today. I found myself trying to think of
other adjectives that begin with a part of the body:

'Mind-numbing'
'Heart-wrenching'

Others?

I'm sure that all ASP really wants to say, but is too kindly to mention, is that "cock of the walk" isn't an adjective ...

Posted By: inselpeter Re: Cock of the walk - 05/06/05 09:56 PM
What about "cockey," then. [/traipsing for cover]

Posted By: Sparteye Re: Cock of the walk - 05/07/05 11:10 PM
Or "cocky", even. Getting pretty ballsy, aren't you, Insel?

In all seriousness (or at least as much as can be mustered), "balls to the wall" is a legitimate addition to this thread.

Also, head strong and head-long.

I don't think so:

(attributed to Rudyard Kipling)

And the King laughed, not because he had to, but because …

No, no, noo: "The King laughed, not because he wanted to, but because..."

A shot in the arm to you, insel.

A shot in the arm

That's pretty gauche, if you ask me.

>But dextrously done.

It seemed a little maladroit to me. Certainly, in connection with this thread, something is queer, da?

>>I don't think so [pilots]<<

interesting

Only Polly Anna would have missed the double entendre, though -- I think it belongs.

Posted By: Faldage Re: predickshun - 05/22/05 08:54 PM
Polly Anna

How bout someone who didn't miss the double entendre but still thinks it doesn't belong?

Posted By: Buffalo Shrdlu Re: predickshun - 05/22/05 09:05 PM
let's not get testy.

shirley they was thinking it.

>>still thinks it doesn't belong

That person and I, I think, would respectfully differ.

"Polly Anna," btw, was meant to refer to a species of pilot that surely never existed, and to nothing and no one else.
