...what the phrase below refers to? I got it from Dr. Bill (whom I wish had posted about it, but at least he didn't ask me not to). Are there any other colorful phrases/colloquialisms that have the same meaning?

I got plenty of nothing is what it means when I say I have crabs and ice-water. Crabs, the kind that crawl on you are useless, and ice water's free.

You got it, dude. Although we were speaking specifically of how little edible meat is in blue crabs, and thus the phrase could mean "hungry", as in a whole lot of nothin' to eat.
