Heard a new one yesterday that sounded very appropriate. "Earworm" that annoying little piece of a song that spins in an endless loop in your head.

Yeah, the cyclical nature of the song sample that the 'Ohrwurm' loop must have, yields interesting epistemic assumptions too.
The appeal of naming it 'earworm' in English, via literal translation, seems logical in light of the zoologically fitting, but not really workable 'earwig'.
