dear Miranda,

I was much saddened today upon picking up the morning newsrag and spotting this item:

Dear tsuwm: You baffle me. why the sob? The snake oil salesmen are still in business. And the suckers are just as gullible as they ever were. Look at the idiots who adore Alternative Medicine.

>you baffle me

much would be revealed were you to search (local) for... oh... say, Questionable Medical Devices. (it's much too silly to rehash here.)

Dear tsuwm: I envy you your powers of retention. Of memory that is.

Elizabeth will be heart-broken. She so wanted to show me it.

Well, perhaps the Science Museum will have an appropriate viewing space for it.

Dear Carmen,

Where in the world is the Science Museum of Minnesota? And, can you help tsuwm find his former place of employment, please?

Psst, ASp! Are you up for another slog into the wintry wilds of Minnesota to find tsuwm, his workplace or his peripatetic paraphenalia? - M. [cloak-and-dagger -e]
And why, oh why can't we have those animated emoticons on our board?

Umm, Jackie?

It's in Minnesota.

You gone need them bigguns to navigate through the snow, Angel. Think of it as having built in snowshoes.

Carmen,

I am bereft, as surely are you.

At least one icon, one tribute to great human achievement, still stands:

(and thanks, Dr Bill, for resurrecting blackthorn's thread!)

To paraphrase what has been said elsewhere:
Women are so sensitive about their anatomy.

UMMMMMMMM [looking down at feet- e] I guess they are big too!

Jackie,

Quoting the article that all this came from: "McCoy said he could have easily sold most of the 325 artifacts, but opted to give most of them to the St. Paul museum." I guess that would mean it's in St. Paul?

Yours truly,

Angel

That's what this thread needs... more animation!

Keiva - In this *case it should have been spelt "pair o' phrase".

Why can't we have them animated ones!!!

ROTFLMAO, musick!
In that vein, I understand that Dick Cavett, as a young man trying to break into show business, got his first job as a gagwriter. He got it by sending the following line to Jack Paar, the then-host of the Tonight Show, to be used to introduce a guest:
And here they are: Jane Mansfield!

Connie, can't believe you didn't put [:boobies:] or [:licker:] or that adorable [:smooch:] in your list!

Angel, I was responding to the "pair o'phrase" remark. I was already just asking for the patented ASp Harumph® and thought I'd better leave well enough alone.

Keiva - In this *case it should have been spelt "pair o' phrase".
And, if they had lights attached, you could say "pair of rays"...

Since *these women are so encourageable, I'll leave my comment about words to myself...

Isn't this one of those "-able" -vs- "-eable" questions that were bounced off the walls a while back? I kinda like the "-eable" look of "encourageable", yet I would still pronounce the soft "g" without seeing the "e".
