As the blizzard of seasonal ads drifts ever higher around us, comic blunders by dim bulbs will brighten our days. I offer the following to kick off a thread of seasonal advertising illiteracy:

Seen this evening on display at Hammachcher Schlemmer:
LETTERS OF THE CENTURY. this tome contains over 400 reprinted letters form people of the United States during the last hundred years. Transcriptions include the telegram Orville Wright scent his father after completing the first four successful powered air flights ever recorded...

Adjacent on the shelf was Peter Bowler's Superior Person's Book of Words. Trust me, it isn't.
