New Scientist magazine for Aug 4 had an interesting discussion of Random Thought. I had no idea that "random" started off as a military term. Try this URL

Enjoyable site, Dr. Bill, though I got completely sidetracked from your main point of reference, and on to
"Whats the blue flash when you open an envelope?"
you can get the same "flash" peeling scotch (cello) tape off of glass (best seen in dark-- ) a few year ago, Scientific American had an article about "art photography" that was made by the controlled peeling of tape off glass. Under the glass was a sheet of photographic paper.. the peeling was done in the dark, the paper when developed had interesting patterns.
