I am new to this wonderful site and apologize if this is the wrong place for remarks such as this one. Last week's theme (malapropisms, etc) made me remember that venerable collection of student errors hilariously recounted at

As for deliberate distortions of old words, cleverly formed into new ones with witty definitions, a search of your site under "mensopause" might amuse.

The author has made a very good job of weaving all the old chestnuts into a delightful pastiche of history. Thanks for pointing it out - and welcome!

pastiche--a lovely word.

Hmm--cross-threading in a very tangential way: once there was a mathematics hunter who, upon discovering a colleague's hidden collection, exclaimed, "Pi stash! Eee! Oh!"

Ok, I'm leaving now. [ducking thrown tomatoes e]
I guess you could say I'm a nut case. [running even faster e]
