I saw two plates recently that seemed to indicate the owner couldn't get exactly the vanity plate he or she requested:
DIVNE
and
FDXY.
Dunno bout the first one but the second could be Fire Department of Xavier Yerba.
I was tickled by one I saw a couple of months ago:
QT31416
(That's pronounced "Cutie-Pie" )

That'd even be funner in a state where that was the standard format.
Somebody posted on Facebook a picture of a license plate that was the formula for sugar...on a Cube.
Here's an oldie from the San Francisco Chronicle's column by Herb Caen: 10SNE1
DIVNE:
This looks like "divine". Look at this, though:
"divenire" which means "becoming" (n.) in Italian.
FDXY:
How about "Fire Department Male"?
I thought this was appropriate on a Lamborghini: 2L8IWUN
This one must be a dentist: 2TH DK

On a 100k Mercedes but upside-down...BLONDE
