I froze under pressure.

And it's summer, even in Alaska.
Posted By: Tromboniator Re: The Oxford Dictionary games - 06/07/11 11:29 AM
Strictly speaking, not for another couple of weeks.

Strictly speaking not for another couple weeks here, either.
However we had a temperature yesterday of 104 (40C).
And it is going to pass that today, at least in the forecast.
Posted By: Tromboniator Re: The Oxford Dictionary games - 06/08/11 10:28 AM
We had a high today of 53.1 (11.7), which is much more refined and civilized, thank you very much.
Posted By: LukeJavan8 Re: The Oxford Dictionary games - 06/08/11 03:21 PM
That was 20 degrees below our Low for the day.
But who said we were civilized? Not I. In fact
I think this state prides itself on savagery in
all areas from -25 to +104 in weather, to overflowing
rivers, to rampid tornadoes. And that is just Ma Nature.

rampid?

rampant, maybe?

Ah, somebody did catch it. I did too after I typed it, and
just thought, "no, I'll leave it and see what happens.".
Thanks Buffalo. Funny, though, my automatic spell-check did
not catch it.

There are a couple of words I misused as a child and they
have continued into where I am now. One was "unelse" for
"unless" and somewhere along the line I picked up
"rampid". I know it's rampant, as buff says, but I always
say the other one.
