The earlier thread had 950 posts or so in it. Since we're starting afresh why don't we freshen that too, for the sake of anyone using a narrowband connection (i.e. a modem).

I suggest we put a stake in its heart and start a new one, right here.

Count me "dense", but it must be some other thread?
I have no idea what you are talking about. Should I??
Posted By: wofahulicodoc Re: ... and going to - 10/18/10 01:45 AM
Not dense, but it's been a while.

If you look at

http://wordsmith.org/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=180924
you'll see a previous incarnation. (page down to 1/22/2009)

and another reference at
http://wordsmith.org/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=189797
has the mosst recent time it was offered. (page down to 3/6/2010)

I don't recall where the first mention of it was; likely a different thread but the same game.

And there's a way of getting directly to the post by its #, but I only know how to get to the top of the thread. Sorry.

As for duck and in bold: Duck is what you should do to avoid being hit by a RICOCHET. Bold is like this as opposed to ordinary text. My "next word"s are most often in bold to indicate that that's my answer. A word NOT BOLD is a comment meaning "this one's close but breaks one rule of another and so doesn't really qualify." In other words, it's close, but no cigar.

GREEN OWL

(don't know if two words count or not, but it was an entertaining two word anagram)
Posted By: LukeJavan8 Re: - -- -one's standards? - 11/17/10 05:37 PM
Something else we need to vote on, I suppose.
Normally two words don't count. But I am only one
player in this game.

Not that green owl wasn't a good one!
I've had some like that too, but refrained, due to
the one word tradition I encountered when I came on.
But when you get one, post it anyway, just for fun.
I enjoyed it.

re remolding ... I agree...your word looks like you intend to add more mold and who needs that!

WELCOME bexter in UK, glad to have you play
(your Dragon has a lovely long tail...good for aerodynamics)

I think stick to one word.....but of course show us other options that are interesting for comment.

[That looks like two operations, but can also be seen as changing M to P, so
GOLDMINER-->DEPLORING is actually within the Roolz (add or subtract or change one-and-only-one letter, then re-arrange if desired)]

It's more or less a "proper" noun, capitalized. What we were
talking about above.

hopefully we can work our way out of the rut.......

we can only try... definitely a rut
Posted By: bexter Re: ......more than one! - 11/25/10 07:33 PM
hmmm have put FOOTBRIDGES through every possible combination...I have removed each letter and scrambled systematically and found nothing, have replaced each individual letter with every letter in the alphabet and added each letter alphabetically to the end and come up with nothing except variations on debtors and obliged frogs...

AS HAVE I: NO LUCK.
SO WE NEED TO
go back and pick up from a previous word, or.
start anew.

I started a new ANAGRAMS IV

In the FUN THREAD.

first word is HOLIDAY

If someone can untangle FOOTBRIDGES, good luck, and I'll join
in, but for now Anagrams IV is up and running.

Yes Luke...anything to get this game going again. I'm missing it.
I foresaw the 'deadlock' but couldn't prevent it.
I too have been playing around with last word and only way out was to combine two words......
Posted By: LukeJavan8 Re: ......more than one! - 11/26/10 03:55 PM

onward, then, to Anagrams IV: "holiday"
