The rules are much the same as the rules of Hogwash®. The Biblieotechnician offers the title and a brief plot synopsis of some real novel. Contestants send in false first lines to the Biblieotechnician who then offers them to the players along with the real first line.

The novel is She's on First. It's the story of the first female major league baseball player and her short career with the Chicago Eagles. Her breakthrough is due to the fact that one of her biggest fans from her Little League days has just bought the Eagles.

PM me first lines by next Sunday, 12 o'clock noon UTC.

Does it have to be exactly one sentence, or can it be an opening passage consisting of a few sentences?

Good question. I'm going to dictate one sentence, at least for this round. It can be arbitrarily complex if you wish. Other Biblieothechnicians may feel free to alter this rule, but I'm sticking with one sentence and will edit any submissions to follow this rule if necessary.
