Is there a word that is opposite of oncoming? I need a word to express the phrase 'approaching from behind.'

Dear xara: Perhaps "overtaking". wwh

Overtaking doesn't quite work. Perhaps I don't need approaching from behind, perhaps I need "approaching from behind, or being and staying behind" The sentence is: Both oncoming and from behind, these headlight cause dangerous glare [for other drivers]....

Perhaps "from either direction" wwh

rear view

since the case you gave as an example rear view is appopriate.

Good to see you again, xara. How about, "From both front and behind, ..."? No. "Coming from any direction..."?
"Approaching from either the front or the rear..."?
