I've noticed over the past decade or so, that American media (I'm thinking here of Time and Newsweek(not that I read them much these days)) seem to be shifting from expressions such as "at the end of the week/month/year" to "at week's/month's/year's end". Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I have. Perhaps there has been a push for succinctness. (What can I say? I'm an optimist.)

Not sure how young this is. Walt Kelly parodied it in Pogo back in the '60s or early '70s.
