How did broad get to be a synonym (of coarse) for woman?

Dear Keiva: compare a male pelvis with a female pelvis. Notice the difference in the distances between the ischial tuberosities. It will give you a clue.

Dr. Bill,

You mean it all comes down to how big a hole there is in our pelvises? Thank you for not saying it is because of our big...um...hips. Yeah, that's the word I was looking for!

Dear Angel: Try to imagine a baby's head getting out of a male pelvis. And did you ever wonder why girls' bicycles seats are different?

Got that lesson up close and personal Dr. Bill, when my granddaughter was born three months ago. Alas, mine were c-sections.
