OH, my husband will love the quote! To the
CIA, the FBI were 'Foreign Born Irish,' poorly educated flatfoots whose
in-your-face investigating style blew many leads to KGB schemes. To the
FBI, the CIA's view of law enforcement was so relaxed that it verged on
the unconscious.'

FBI poorly educated? I had a college room-mate who went to
Harvard just to get qualifications to be accepted by FBI,
which at that time required either a law degree, or a
CPA. I don't know how much they have relaxed those requirements.

Needless to say, the CIA of Dulles and the FBI of J. Edgar were two organizations that were antagonistic of one another, and the CIA thought of itself as more humanistically edumacated, while the G-men went in for professional degrees. FBI agents wore hats and blue suits, and the CIA tended towards tweed coats with leather patches at the elbows and smoking pipes. I'm talking about cultural stereotypes not reality here. A funny movie that illustrates this is the President's Analyst.
