Has anyone ever heard the word "bogart" used as a slang term for keeping a lot of objects to one's self?

ah, yes. as in "don't bogart that doobie"...

Yeah, the primary use of it is connected to the certain illicit substance etaoin referenced (or licit, in some cases -- don't bogart my glaucoma medication?), but I have heard it used in other contexts as well. I've wondered about the origin of the term before, and I must admit I was hoping for something more colorful that the one Anu supplied (though I don't doubt its veracity).

In his movies, Bogart used to let cigarette barely hang
from his lower lip. Wannebes copied mannerism with cannabis joints, and were slow to share.

bogart has prompted several threads in the past, including this one (which links to an historic other).
