Don't you just love today's Word? Never mind the real def., it just sounds like such a delicious way of saying "boring to tears--avoid at all cost"!
Dear Jackie: just to tease you, "mundane" means common, ordinary. So "extramundane" means extra common.
Extramundane is a delicious-sounding word, Jackie. Sounds like an adjective for something on the dessert menu of an elegant restaurant:
Extramundane Chocolate Torte with Frivolous Whipped Cream
"Extramundane" reminds me of a psychiatric patient who defended his use of LSD thus:"The government is spending millions to put men on the moon. I can go out of this world for one buck." (He never really returned.)
