Unless I read it wrong, today's word seems to indicate
(l BCE-1 CE)that the sect was around only two years.
Yet they seem to be influential in the time of the Christ
30 CE.

"After the Pharisees, a Jewish sect during 1st century BCE - 1st century CE..."

I read that as over the course of (up to) 200 years. (e.g., 30 CE. is during the 1st century CE.)

That makes more sense.

---And I see there is a correction on today's word of the
day, Luddite, a typo which sent me to my first posting
of only a 2 year lifespan for the Pharisees.
