This week's theme: words with built-in definite articles.

algorithm (AL-guh-rith-uhm) noun

A finite sequence of well-defined steps for solving a problem.

If that does't define a subroutine I don't know what does

...and by extenstion, if you're a descriptivist, a program

As an old fart on the brink of decrepitude and unfamiliar with demotics I yet have the candor to admit I don't understand. If it was a link I clicked on it but nothing happened

.....but thank you if the implication was one of professionalism in my favorite hobby

here's your hobbyhorse link, then -- just follow these steps when you get there:

1: type algorithm in Keyword Search Terms box
2: click 'in subject' radio button
3: type dalehileman in Display Name Search box
4: select 'Newer than 2 Years' for date range
5. select 'All Forums' (for Forums to search)
5: click 'Submit' button
6: observe results

... by the same extension, thinking about wiggling your little toe is the same as running a marathon.

Can't wait for you to bubble this up to the top in 3 months and brag once more about "not making a habit of it."

.. love to.

It is a very useful term in programming but is not limited to that realm.

[Sort of like 'program' in that respect]

Ar: Yes, quite so.

Tsu: I have repeatedly attempted WS' Search algorithm with only limited success, which I dare not discuss here for fear of affront to Admin and its staunch Allies so if you are at all interested I am dalehileman@verizon.net and apparently don't care who knows it
