Subject: A.Word.A.Day--ecdysis
ec.dy.sis \'ek-d*-s*s\ \-d*-.se-z\ n or ec.dy.ses [NL, fr. Gk ekdysis act of getting out] pl : the act of molting or shedding an outer cuticular layer (as in insects and crustaceans)

And it was from this word that H.L.Mencken coined "ecdysiast" = stripper. For which I offer the Latin
equivalent "dysvestrix".
