While looking around for a transcript of the chat session (which I hope will be available soon), I noticed that Jackie is sitting at 1087 posts. Thirteen more until ?? Let's make sure the vent does not pass quietly people.

Imperatorix

There is nothing like total ignorance to give one a certain reckless, or indeed feckless, audacity. Ought not the word in question be "Imperatrix"? Anyway, keep up your average of more than 5 posts a day and you'll be joining Jackie in Verbhalla in no time!

Earlier today I received a missive from our recalcitrant raconteuse, promising to send me swiftly on a journey to the undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveller returns. In light of this, before Jackie's bodkin makes my quietus, I wish to celebrate reaching the halfway point in my transition from addict to old hand. Since Jackie is as good as her word, this may well be the last you hear from me.

Max plorne-queedled: Ought not the word in question be "Imperatrix"?

Yes, it ought. And the last mistake I ever made was in 1932. Well-spotted.

An average or more than 5 posts a day? Big brother is watching, isn't he?

You betcha. Contact me for permission to engage in a little artsem, if you're made of the right stuff.

The truth is that ever since posting "Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics" (I would post a link, but I can't be bothered), I have been following people's progress. Yours has been gratifyingly rapid - kind of like the Wellington back-line on the proverbial "good day."

Support Otago myself. Wellington is too erratic. At least Otago loses consistently.

Perhaps I should take a leaf out of Hot-Black Desiato's tax accountant's book?

what's all this then?
this word is first cited in 1623; to wit, Cockeram, Imperatrix, shee that commandeth -- not to put too fine a point on it, SWMBO.
