Those with narrow bandwidth may find a stripped-down web browser called "Pocket Rocket" gives them a little speed boost. It is available free for download at abtons-shed.com. I haven't tested it on a dial-up modem, but it is quick on dsl.

Faldage, I don't think there is a Mac version. Opera, another small browser, may. I just don't know.
