Kojo Nnamdi interviewed him yesterday on Public Interest show.
It's already up on WAMU.

About half-way down the page at http://www.wamu.org/pi/

Cleese is a lawyer and a shrink? Very interesting! I'd love to hear him in a courtroom!

But you'd have to be careful not to mention the war...

Sorry, I know that wasn't entirely appropriate to I&A, but I couldn't help it...

he has done some very funny, very effective corporate training film. i saw one years ago.. funniest part, most of the employees (young) knew cleese from python, management bought the tape because it was well reviewed, and didn't have a clue!
and alexis, we have had 'spam threads' that were all about the spam cafe, not the unwanted email type, and other thread, talking about our favorite bit.. (from python, not just cleese, but fawlty towels bits got included too. manual's use of english did sort of fit in here.. and goodness knows, sheep had staring roles in python, and here.)

personally, i liked crunchy frog...

Helen, there is nothing worse than a towel that doesn't work!

didn't you ever notice at in the open shots? the letters on the out door billboard were always being re-arranged (i the think it was actually farty towels one week.. )
Miss that detail did you in the open credits? Ha, go back and rewatch them! that is one of the reason python humor holds up. there was so much crammed it a show, sometimes you'd miss a bit.. like the title of the books on the coffee table , or the newpaper headlines, or the art on the wall.. or the billboard in the front entry way, by the parking lot/car park was an anagram!

Cleese is a genius and the cleverest of the Pythons in my humble opinion. However, I don't think he is a shrink - he has written books such as "Families and How to Survive Them", which he co-authored with his own shrink Robin Skynner, but he possesses no qualifications himself.
As far as I know he never actually practised law either - the lure of showbiz drew him away too soon. He certainly was a believable barrister in "A Fish Called Wanda" though!!
Graham Chapman was the python who did practise, but in his case it was medicine, not law.
