I didn't even know we HAD a national flower. I only got that one right because it's was the only NZ flower on the list. I got the question about the federation wrong. I never knew that Fiji once considered being part of a menagerie of three with the ANZACs.

yeahbut - you gotta know what's a flower and what's a local term for a house of ill-repute or whatever the others are! I landed two fairly lucky guesses, of which the other island was one.
