This is a good one, O wfftd-Master!...in that, the options are all negotiable. I like 'butterflies in the stomach', but "myth" leads me more to "a ventriloquist" in that the projected voice is a myth. So that's my Final Answer...D.

Awww, no fair - this is like hearing half of a phone conversation that sounds like it may be fun.

Awww...I just wanted to see if you'd pick-up on that typo. And you did, in your usual grandiloquent and masterly style!

Hey, Shona...all you have to do is subscribe to tsuwm's site to get in on the other half of the fun! It's free!

Dear WO'N: Name the god that has possessed you.

Yeah nunc, but I know myself - I wouldn't be able to resist pursuing definitions, exploring histories, etc, and then it would be another hour I haven't got out of my day .

Having said which, here I am doing the same thing on AWADtalk anyway...

OK, I give in.

My first guess was (a) tummy rumble, but now I think (d) ventriloquist is much more likely. Off to LIU..

"some writers thought that the voice came from the genitals"

Ah, so that's what the testes are there for. Since the Sperm whale thread we've known that sperm is actually generated in the brain:

Gives a new meaning to the term talking bollocks.

BTW, I do know this was really about the Witch of Endor, and female genitals, honest!

I like the idea of a stuffed Pheonix. But wherever would you display it? There's not a room over the mantel to display it--and I think the side of the barn would collapse from the weight.

I would suggest in the fireplace rather than above it, WW.

Dear WO'N: Name the god that has possessed you.

Pick one!

BTW, I was correct about D,ventriloquist, for engastrimyth. More fodder for the gods?
