I wonder what this word meant to Dickens in this sentence:
"The other stood lunging with his foot upon a chair, and regarded him with a contemptuous sneer. "

A typo for lounging, perhaps? Give us the reference, Bill, and I'll check my copy.

I believe that the use of the word lunging in this context brings forth the image of the perpetrator leaning into his foot on the chair in the manner of a fencer lunging at his opponent.
