Condyloma acuminatum, condylomata acuminata, 'genital wart', caused by human papillomavirus. From Gk κονδυλωμα (kanduloma) 'knob, callous lump' fr. Gk κονδυλος (kondulos) 'knuckle'; fr PIE *ken- 'to compress, pinch; nip' many different roots augmented with other final consonants: *kneu-k-, *kneu-g-, OIr cnocc 'grave mound, barrow', OE hnocc 'penis'. Acuminatum, p ppl of acumino 'to sharpen, make a point' fr. acumen 'point; shrewdness' fr. 'to sharpen, exercise, improve; accent', cf. acute accent.

Because they believe strongly in divine intervention for cures, the Bush admniistration has a series of religions ceremonies to try to cure this condition:

Condy Rites.

I do hope, zmjezhd, that this series of medical terms for problems with the male organ, though fascinating, are not a reflection of your own state of health?

No, your hopes are justified, Bingley. Thanks.

Hopes are justified by a whim of human nature, never by their satisfaction. They have their origins, in opposite circumstances, real or illusory. If Bingley's hopes cannot therefore be justified, and have, in all politeness, not been directly expressed, still, they are grounded.

But his question remains untended.

My answer to Bingley's question was "no". Still is. Sorry to disappoint.
