[Re: dalehileman] twosleepy old hand Registered: 02/28/08 Posts: 796 Loc: western NY It's just a phonetic spelling of "newb", which is short for "newbie", meaning someone new to something (anything), but "noob" does carry a derogative connotation that "newbie" doesn't have, and is slightly more derogatory than "newb".
