Science fiction come true: in which place, town or city were you watching on 07/20/1969 ?
moon link
If you have enough years to have watched and not too many to not remember?
I was Noves, Bouches du Rhône, France.

Edit: ( I asked because this event has been largely memorized here over the last couple of days. Our minds memorize quite selectively, but for this very special event everyone I asked around here knew exactly where he/she was)

Louisville, KY, crowded around the black and white television in my grandparents' bedroom in the Heather House Apartments across from the Showcase Cinemas on Bardstown Rd.

Hello, I was traveling as a passenger in a car, a radio on my lap, listening carefully.
I remember: I found hard to believe that men was really walking on the moon.
40 years later imagine a new challenge, that overcomes the previous one.
What do you think of this new challenge about Artificial Intelligence ?
The Singularity is an unbelievable idea.

Hello, I've read some on the site you gave, but now I get a lot of broken links there. I'm afraid they are already amongst us.

I'm not really looking forward to 'beings' thinking better than best as long as it is not very clear what good thinking is. (to me at least it's not)

Chu Lai, South Viet Nam, marvelling at the magic of seeing what only twelve years earlier had seemed like fantasies come true. And watching it from a war zone, at that.
